Gary L. Harrison

Gary L. Harrison, 74, McLeansboro, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

Mr. Harrison taught at Carmi High School for 32 years.

He was born March 30, 1934, in Mt. Vernon to W.O. and Sara (Garrison) Harrison. He married Sharon Jo Morris on July 2, 1966, in McLeansboro.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at Garrison Cemetery, Aden. The Rev. Alan Monroe will officiate. There will be no visitation. Mr. Harrison was cremated at his request.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Harrison of McLeansboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and wife Wilma of Centralia; and a granddaughter, Hannah Harri-son.

Mr. Harrison was a member of American Legion Post 106, McLeansboro, and Elks Lodge 1882, McLeansboro. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of all arrangements.
