Thelma Geraldine Beall

Thelma Geraldine Beall died Oct. 27, 2007, in Phoenix, Ariz.

By her wishes, Thelma was cremated; her remains will be brought to McLeansboro on May 10, 2008, for a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the McLeansboro Catholic cemetery.

The family will meet at Pat’s Café across the street after the service to visit over lunch with family and friends, and invites others to join them.

Born in Chicago, Thelma lived 93 years, the last half century in her adopted state, Arizona, which benefited enormously from her insatiable curiosity and commitment to her community. Thelma served as president of many art and charitable organizations, among them the Heard Museum Guild, Friends of Mexican Art and Arizona Girls Ranch.

Thelma’s talents and interests were far reaching and included en-thusiastic support of the Phoenix Art Museum, the Soroptomists, and not to be discounted, her business acumen and love of travel. If it was there, so was she.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, J. Guy Beall, and is survived by his son, grandchildren and nephew and by her nieces and nephews.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Arthur G. and Mae Rose Johnson; her sister Dolores; and brothers Arthur and Erman Johnson.

A memorial service was held Nov. 7, 2007, in Phoenix.

In recognition of Thelma’s commitment to Arizona’s relationship with Mexico and its art, contributions to Friends of Mexican Art, 3104 E. Camelback Road, PMB 143, Phoenix, AZ 85016, would be greatly appreciated.
