Johnnie Lee Allen

Johnnie Lee Allen, 57, of McLeansboro, died at 5:03 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Mayberry Township in Broughton.

Mr. Allen was an oilfield sandblaster worker.

He was born in Hamilton County on July 21, 1950, a son of John Franklin and Sylvia Lorene (Fann) Allen. He married Gloria Denbo; she preceded him in death.

Funeral services were Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Keith “Chuck” Belcher officiating. Interment was at Prospect Cemetery, near McLeansboro.

Mr. Allen is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sylvia and Cyril Doerner of Norris City; brothers Joe Allen and wife Vickey of Enfield, Ronnie Allen and wife Lavonne of Carrier Mills and Michael Allen and wife Judy of Carmi; and sisters Brenda Hartman and husband Ronald of Omaha and Sherry Stover and husband Corbett of Norris City.

Mr. Allen was a member of the White County Sportsman Club. He was Protestant by faith.

He was preceded in death by his father; wife; one son, John Adam Allen; one granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Allen; and also a dear friend, June Hale.
