Wilburn “Wib” Prince
Wilburn “Wib” Prince, 89, of Harrisburg and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Prince was a meter reader for the city of McLeansboro
He was born Aug. 13, 1918, in McLeansboro, a son of Emory and Pearl (Griffith) Prince. He and his wife, Carrie (Webb) Prince, were married Jan. 26, 1943, in St. Louis.
A memorial service was held Saturday at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, with the Rev. Jeff Rush officiating. Mr. Prince was cremated as per his personal request.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Prince of Harrisburg; two daughters, Sandra Fisk and husband Allen of Gulf Port, Miss., and Sharon Douglass and husband Frank of Broughton; four grandchildren, Brian Fisk of Bowling Green, Ky., Brent Fisk and wife Holly Hedden of Bow-ling Green, Ky., Darren and Gene-fer Douglass of Greenfield, Ind., and Deanna (Douglass) Bar-thel and husband Steve of Colum-bia; three great-grandchildren, Avrie, Max and Samantha Barthel; and one brother, Rev “Dock” Prince.
Mr. Prince was Protestant by faith. He was a past Hamilton County circuit clerk and Hamilton County treasurer.
He served as a U.S. Army medic in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, which is in charge of all arrangements.
