William T. Rubenacker
William T. Rubenacker, 89, of Sibley died at 8 p.m. Thursday April 24, 2008, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Colfax.
Mr. Rubenacker was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Piopolis. He was the son of John W. and Margaret C. Girard Rubenacker.
He married Margaret Bowling on Jan. 5,1946, in McLeansboro. She died Aug. 31, 1967. He married Faye G. Lloyd on Nov. 3, 1973, in Joliet. She died April 13, 2005.
Surviving are four sons, Ron Rubenacker of Bloomington, Pat Rubenacker of Sibley, Jim Rubenacker of Bloomington and Jim (Wanda) Webster of Quincy; two daughters, Janet (Dick) Klossing of Forrest and Kay Wingerter of Quincy; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George (Erma) Rubenacker of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma and Marie, and two brothers, Lawrence and Leo.
Mr. Rubenacker served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was retired from Central Soya in Gibson City.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Carmi and was an avid Cardinals fan.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
His funeral Mass was Tuesday at St. Clement’s Catholic Church in McLeansboro with Father Joseph Lawler officiating. Burial was in St. Clement’s Cemetery in McLeansboro with military rites accorded.
Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City was in charge of arrangements.
