Engagement: Gibbs — Heck

Wayne and Linda Gibbs of Carmi announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Krystal Mae, to Nathan Paul, the son of Bruce and Cindy Heck of Sparta.

Krystal is the granddaughter of the late Walter and Opal Gibbs of Macedonia and the late Joe and Anna Mae Woodcock of Du Quoin.

Nathan is the grandson of the late Paul Markotay and Irene Weber of Sparta and Clarence and Delores Heck of Evansville.

Krystal is a 2001 graduate of Carmi-White County High School and a 2003 graduate of Southeastern Illinois College with an associate degree in childcare and guidance.

Nathan is a 2001 graduate of Sparta High School and a 2003 graduate of John A. Logan College with an associate degree in automotive technology.

Krystal is a teacher in the 2-year-olds’ classroom at Laugh and Laugh Preschool and Childcare Center in Freeburg. Nathan is a mechanic at Mike’s Automotive in Collinsville.

An Oct. 4 wedding is planned at First United Methodist Church in Sparta, with a reception dinner and dance in Carmi at the White County Floral Hall at 6 p.m. Friends and family are welcome.
