Morris/York reunion held; next year's set

McLEANSBORO — The Morris and York reunion was held July 20 at the Carlton Center at First Baptist Church.

The door prize for the oldest in attendance went to Sid Morris; for driving the farthest, to Bernard Morris; and for having the most family there, to Saundra Ping.

Those in attendance this year included Bernard and Linda Morris, Carl Morris, Cletus “Sid” and Norma Morris, Barry Morris, Erika and Scott Healy, Evan, Erik and Sarah, Wilburn “Todd” and Beulah Morris, Tom and Marjie Clanahan, Valerie Morris, Daniel and Angela Bishop, Saundra Ping and Robert Bain, Arizona Curtis, Ezekiel Axe, October Ping, Fred Ping, Heath, Tina and Wyatt Tullis, Jim Morris, Jackie Morris, Vaudie Dosher, Naomi Carr and Mary York.

After a blessing over the family and the food offered by Norma Morris, those attending had a potluck dinner, then talked and reminisced about the old days. Stories told by the older folks may be included in a Morris/York family history being planned.

Next year’s reunion will be July 19, same time, same location.
