Two hurt in wreck near Dahlgren

CARMI — Two people were injured in a car crash Sunday morning in northwest Hamilton County, Illinois State Police reported.

The driver, Jamie Lynn Logan, 33, of Hardy, Ark., told police that two deer ran onto the road in front of her car, preliminary police information said.

The wreck happened about 7:45 a.m. Sunday on Hamilton County Road 2200N, east of County Road 200E, northeast of Dahlgren.

In trying to avoid hitting the deer, Logan lost control of her 1995 Chevrolet Corsica, which left the south side of the road, struck a ditch embankment and overturned before stopping in an upright position, the police report said.

Logan and an unidentified 12-year-old in the car were taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon for treatment of injuries.

Police ticketed Logan on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license.
