McLEANSBORO — A woman faces drug charges in Hamilton County following her arrest during a traffic stop earlier this month.

Kellie A. Jackson, no age or address listed, was formally charged July 10 with unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursors and unlawful possession of meth-manufacturing materials, both Class 2 felonies, according to Hamilton County Circuit Court records.

During a traffic stop around 4:30 p.m. July 9, state troopers found Jackson to be in possession of pseudoephedrine and lithium batteries, according to State’s Attorney Rod Irvin’s probable-cause affidavit.

Jackson made a statement to law enforcement confirming her intent to manufacture meth, the affidavit stated.

The formal charges accuse Jackson of possession of less than 15 grams of a substance containing a meth precursor in standard dosage form and possession of four lithium AA batteries with intent to use them to manufacture meth.

The court set Jackson’s bail at $15,000. Another court date has not yet been set, records indicated.
