McLEANSBORO — A Hamilton County woman turned herself in to the sheriff’s department Sunday after a search of her home turned up almost 30 marijuana plants, the sheriff said.

Ellrey Rapp, 25, of Route 1, Box 117, Broughton, was placed under arrest around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on charges of unlawful possession of cannabis plants and possession of drug paraphernalia, Sheriff Greg Brenner said Monday.

Officers conducted a warrant search of Rapp’s residence earlier Sunday afternoon and discovered 28 early-stage marijuana plants, Brenner said. Rapp was not home at the time of the search, he said.

As of Monday, Rapp was in custody at White County Jail in Carmi and had not yet made an initial court appearance.
