McLEANSBORO— Representatives of the trust of Dick Weinmann presented a $100,000 check to Hamilton Memorial Hospital District to be put toward the $2 million capital campaign for the hospital expansion project.
The capital campaign has now received approximately $1.34 million in pledges and contributions, according to information from the hospital district.
Weinmann, son of Ernie Weinmann, a Dahlgren native, worked as a telephone lineman for Illinois Bell for 30 years and lived in the Chicago area until his retirement to Hamilton County about five years ago, the district’s news release said.
The family selected two separate $50,000 areas for naming opportunities to reflect the total $100,000 gift and memorialize the giver, the news release said.
“This donation is a testament to Mr. Weinmann’s community-minded, philanthropic spirit,” Randy Dauby, Hamilton Memorial’s chief executive officer, said. “The hospital is very appreciative of this thoughtful and generous gift.”
